We are the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Southern Arizona.  We are a non-profit grassroots organization providing advocacy, education and support to all those affected by serious mental illnesses.

In Tucson and Pima County, NAMISA devotes its efforts to:

Educating...

the public & fighting stigma NAMISA’s ongoing goals are to overcome the ignorance, misinformation, misconceptions and apathy that prevent true understanding and meaningful help from reaching seriously mentally ill persons.

Advocating...

for legislation and funding of programs that will ensure quality community care, housing and services for people with mental illness.

Providing support...

individually and in group meetings for people with mental illness and their families.

NAMISA’s experienced family members provide information on how to cope with the illness, how to relate to stricken loved ones, and available community resources and how to access the public mental health system.

NAMISA is financed by membership dues, donations and grants. Our only affiliations are with the National Alliance On Mental Illness and NAMI Arizona.
