Sheila McGinnis has worked on behalf of people living with mental illness and their families for the past 15 years. Currently, she is the Director of Outreach and Community Partnerships for The University of Arizona where she helps build city and county relationships in southern Arizona. Ms. McGinnis also serves as a liaison between non-profits and the university to develop collaborations. She also oversees campus-wide charitable giving campaigns and volunteer efforts for staff and faculty.
Sheila is a family member who understands the importance of having a place like NAMI Southern Arizona as a resource in the community. “I am honored to serve on NAMI Southern Arizona’s board. This agency is imperative to the greater Tucson area. It’s a place where people provide ideas, hope, and guidance when you don’t know where to turn.”
In her spare time, Sheila enjoys hanging out with her husband and their 3 dogs, teaching art, volunteering, and playing around in her garden. She calls it “plant therapy.”
